Remodel:

1.  Are you licensed?
-Yes!  Custom Creations is a Licensed General Contractor with the Pikes Peak Regional Building Department and will provide you a copy of our license with your project proposal.  We urge you to require the same of any contractor.

2.  Are you insured?  Bonded?
Yes, both!  We carry liability insurance of $2,000,000 on each project and our subcontractors our additionally insured.  Custom Creations is bonded and we hire only bondable employees.

3.  Do you pull the permits?
Yes, we pull all the necessary permits!  Some contractors may try to persuade you to pull them, explaining that they can save you money this way.  DO NOT agree to this.  A contractor is offering this because he doesn’t have insurance or a license.   Homeowners are able to pull a permit if they are completing the work themselves, though the work being completed is still expected to be in compliance with the applicable codes and must pass appropriate inspections.  In this case, the homeowner is responsible for all liability.  Simply put, the party who obtains the permit is accepting responsibility for liability of the worksite.

4. Do you use quality subcontractors?
Yes!  We believe that every aspect of your project should be taken care of by an experienced professional in that trade.  All our subcontractors are qualified and licensed in their appropriate trade.  We expect our subcontractors to provide a quality job on each and every project.  We trust them with your home because we trust them with our own homes!

Reconstruction

1.  Do I have to use the contractor or flooring vendor my insurance assigns to me?
NO!  The insurance company can not require that use any particular contractor or flooring vendor when restoring your home.  Allow us to meet and work with your adjuster to ensure no details are missed in the rebuild estimate.  Because we have helped many homeowners through these unfortunate disasters, we have a thorough knowledge of how the industry works and what is required to see it through to completion.

2.  Do I have to have my property rebuilt to what it was before the disaster or can I upgrade?
You can upgrade!  The approved estimate is prepared to cover the expense of repairs necessary to bring your home back to a pre-existing condition.  However, you can work with your contractor to use those funds towards upgrades.  Custom Creations can assist you in that remodel project you’ve been wanting to complete, but weren’t ready to yet.  There is no better time to remodel!  Take advantage of the time already required to reconstruct your home as well as the money received from your claim and create your vision.  Custom Creations can help you with design and budgeting through the entire project.
